The Austrian Mountain Rescue Service, State organization Upper Austria, is organized as an association.
The purpose of the association is to help, search for, and care for anyone who has had an accident, is missing, is sick, or is otherwise in distress, regardless of the nature or fault of the emergency, off the public road network in impassable, especially alpine terrain recover
